Our kids are young adults now, but we’re involved with debate, Boy Scouts, baseball, football, Ruston High cheerleading and student council. I taught Bible study at the Bridge Community church for 6 years and helped my husband run a successful campaign for District Attorney. These experiences have expanded my network in 4 parishes and I want to use these connections to help my clients. I have been very involved in the Ruston 21 long range city planning process that has projected growth for our city. Ron Whitaker joined Heritage Realty Group in January 2025, shortly after receiving his real estate license. Originally from Arcadia, Louisiana, Ron graduated from high school in Fordyce, Arkansas, and went on to attend Louisiana Tech University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry in May 1996. Following his graduation, he was employed by John M. Futch, Inc. until December 31, 2020.

On January 1, 2001, Ron established Ron Whitaker Consulting Forester, LLC, a consulting forestry business specializing in timberland management for private landowners. He currently manages approximately 25,000 acres in North Louisiana, which remains his primary business focus.

In recent years, Ron noticed a shifting trend where the next generation of timberland-owning families showed less interest in retaining family land. This shift is primarily due to the complexities of managing inherited property among multiple family members with differing goals. To better serve his clients navigating these transitions, Ron decided to obtain his real estate license, adding a valuable niche to his existing consulting practice. Interestingly, when clients approach him about listing their property, Ron always advises them to reconsider selling, frequently reminding them that "God is not making any more land."

On a personal note, Ron and his wife, Meredith, have four children: Anna Grace McClain (married to Nathan), Jack, John, and Ella Kate. They are also the proud grandparents of one grandson, Shepherd McClain.

I am pleased to let you know that I have embarked on a new career that I am excited to share with everyone. I will be joining Heritage Realty Group in Ruston, LA. as a licensed real estate agent. After 18 years in the pharmaceutical industry, I decided to branch off in a different direction and joining Heritage as an agent is a great opportunity. I have always been in the sales and service industry so this seems like a natural transition for me.

As many of you know I was born and raised in Ruston and my roots are fairley deep in this area. I have always enjoyed Ruston’s rich history and neighborhood feel.
